Review: The Magic Rope-Walker – The Miley Cyrus Conspiracy

The Magic Rope-Walker – The Miley Cyrus Conspiracy is a hilarious, challenging, Miley Cyrus related game.

Basically everyone has heard of Miley Cyrus and her transformation from Disney Channel’s sweetheart child to… Well, whatever she is now. Miley Cyrus broke free from Hannah Montana to become something a bit more… out there. This seemed to be a stunt to help show she was no longer the sweet little child everyone expected of her, but instead was her own person. This also got her loads of publicity, which probably was a bonus.

The Magic Rope-Walker – The Miley Cyrus Conspiracy takes a different look at Miley Cyrus’ transformation. Some people believe that instead of changing into the person she is today, she actually is being controlled by the government or Reptilian. Reptilians, from what I have gathered, are replete space creatures who can shape-shift to look like humans. Apparently a load of celebrities could be these creatures. This game takes all of the different conspiracy theories and mashes them together for one challenging, yet fun game.

In this game, the player plays as the heroic Magic Rope-Walker who is looking to save Miley Cyrus. The real Miley Cyrus, in 2010, has been kidnapped and cloned so that the new Miley Cyrus, which is controlled by Reptilians, can help the aliens with mind control. At first, the game is super simple. There is a little red man, called Wait, who guides us on our adventure through the world. The player walks along a rope and needs to get a key for every level, using its anti-gravity powder. This powder can simply be sprinkled on objects below the player to make them float up. Soon, however, the player makes its way into Area 51, where Los Voladores are out guarding the area. These bird-like enemies cannot be killed, but will cause the player to restart the level on contact.

After discovering and passing some of the Los Voladores, the player finds the Reptilians have gotten guns and are able to shoot at you. It is pretty simple to dodge these bullet and continue, remembering to pick up the key along the way, to the end of the level. However, these creatures are not the only ones Area 51 has hidden. Soon, the Chupacabra appears. He is only interested in getting to the key before the player does. Chupacabras are legendary creatures rumored to live in America, but were first spotted in Puerto Rico. This creature does not wish to harm the player, but exists as a race to the key. Once he has beaten the player to the key, the level must be restarted. In the beginning this creator is very slow, but he does speed up over time.

As the player gets closer and closer to the Reptilian ship, you must jump off the rope and use platforms to get back on. Once at the ship, the player discovers that the Reptilians have also stolen the real Paul McCarthy. Too bad there is nothing to do about that. If you are able to figure out which Miley Cyrus is the true Miley, the player is able to take her back home and complete the story. There are two endings to this game, both pretty damn funny. This game is super fun to play, the graphics are simple yet well done, and the story is hilarious. Check it out for yourself.
